CBC’s Battle of the Blades – Live
Sept 19, 5:30pm, 101 York Blvd, Hamilton. Hockey Night in Canada’s Ron MacLean hosts the 2-hour premiere of Battle of the Blades as figure skating and hockey athletes pair up for this live, high-stakes figure skating competition for charity. Four-time Canadian and four-time World champion figure skater Kurt Browning serves as head judge while beloved Canadian Olympic Games ice dance champions, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, will be rink-side with him as guest judges for select episodes. The complete lineup of figure skaters includes: Violetta Afanasieva, Amanda Evora, Ekaterina Gordeeva, Vanessa James, Andrew Poje, Eric Radford, and Kaitlyn Weaver. Live taping begins 7pm. 30th Annual Beamsville & District Lions Food Drive
