Winter Exhibit: Spiders Alive!
Jan 19 to April 14; 10am to 5pm; Royal Botanical Gardens, 680 Plains Road West, Burlington. We've invited spiders and their arthropod friends to crawl on over for a visit this winter. Explore amazing adaptations and behaviours of spiders and other many-legged creatures in two interactive exhibits and daily programs for all ages. In Spiders Alive!, visitors can explore spider anatomy and evolutionary history, learn about their signature traits — venom and silk-making — and be surprised by little-known defense mechanisms such as mimicry and noise-making. In addition to live arachnids representing approximately 17 species, the exhibition includes larger-than-life models of spiders, a climbable spider model 50 times life size, and a rare 100-million-year-old fossil of a spider in limestone. One Thing Leads To Another: A Young People's Theatre Production

One Thing Leads to Another is an immensely popular and critically-acclaimed show commissioned by Young People’s Theatre, and created specifically for infants. As they develop and thrive, babies use all of their senses to learn about the world. In this play, performers engage with the audience using music, enticing visuals, and tactile experiences. Taste of Burlington ‘Launch’ Event
Coming Soon…Tuesday Jan 29. The 2019 Taste of Burlington program ‘launch’ is at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre and it is an evening of food and drink sampling. Meet the participating restaurateurs at their interactive food stations and sample their delectable cuisine. The Taste of Burlington Top Chef in a ‘‘People’s Choice’‘ category will be crowned when guests choose their favourite sampling of the evening. ‘‘Best Taste’‘ will also be judged by a celebrity panel.
