‘Fully Committed’
Continues to…Jan 26, Grand Theatre - 471 Richmond Street, London. By Becky Mode and Mark Setlock; Directed by Steven Gallagher; Starring Gavin Crawford. Nobody wants to hear that a multiple-award-winning, ridiculously trendy restaurant is fully committed and can’t take a booking. When New York socialites and international a–listers wish to dine on the date they wish to dine on, it’s harder to finesse than the perfect soufflé.In a dingy basement office far from the magic of molecular gastronomy, skillful reservationist Sam has to use his charisma and wits to keep over forty demanding people happy — and most importantly, keep his job. For more information, please visit grandtheatre.com or call 519.672.8800

Opera at Western: The Mikado by Gilbert & Sullivan
Coming Soon…Jan 31 - Feb 9, Western University - Paul Davenport Theatre, Talbot College, London. Presented by the Don Wright Faculty of Music. The Mikado is a delightful satire, a smart skewering of power, politics, and personal relationships. The music is both lovely and lively in equal measure. In the grand tradition of Gilbert and Sullivan, much of the text will be updated to reflect (and lampoon) our modern Canadian realities, while retaining the beautiful score and clever storytelling of the original. A wickedly funny, tune-filled romp for the whole family. Music Director Simone Luti; Stage Director Michael Cavanagh. Opera ticket tip! If you would like to select specific seats in Paul Davenport Theatre, call the Grand Theatre at 519.672.8800 or visit the Grand Theatre box office in person. Specific seat selection is not available for online orders. Visit music.uwo.ca/events/opera.html to learn more about this year’s opera productions at the Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western University

The Odd Couple (Female version)
Jan 23 to Jan 26, The Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, AEG Liebherr Auditorium. By BurlOak Theatre Group. $30 Regular Seating. Neil Simon’s revision of his hugely successful play, The Odd Couple, sees the lead characters transformed into Olive Madison and Florence Unger. Olive and their group of girlfriends are enjoying their weekly Trivial Pursuit night in Olive’s messy and ill-equipped apartment. As the game continues, Florence arrives, fresh from being dumped by her husband. Fearful that the neurotic Florence might attempt suicide, Oliva invites her to move in as her roommate. Olive and Florence have ‘very’ different personalities. Where Olive is messy, untidy, and unconcerned about the state of her apartment, Florence is obsessively cloon, tidy, and obsessed with hygiene. Olive’s easy·going outlook on life soon clashes with Florence’s highly-strung neurotic tendencies testing their friendship to the limit. Jan. 23, Jan. 24 and Jan. 25 at 7:30pm and Sunday, Jan. 26 at 2pm. For more information about The Odd Couple, visit oakvillecentre.ca
