I'm Still Here (One Act Play)

I'm Still Here has been informed by research conducted with persons living with dementia during the early and later parts of the journey as well as with daughters whose mothers were diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The researchers and artists worked together for more than a year to bring deeply moving experiences shared during research to life through dramatic performance. The intent of the play is to help diminish any unnecessary suffering that can come with living with dementia due to misunderstanding and stigma. Pal Joey follows the wily Joey Evans, a cunning small-time nightclub owner whose ambition knows no bounds. Driven by dreams of glamour and power, his schemes are laced with deception and entanglements with the wealthy and already married Vera Simpson. Featuring songs that have become Broadway standards including ‘‘I Could Write a Book’‘ and ‘‘Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered’‘, Pal Joey is a ?endish classic that has had several revivals and a ?lm adaptation starring Frank Sinatra and Rita Hayworth.
