The festival aims to unite passionate & professional artists together and create a platform to showcase the unique talent which the community has to offer. It is a day to unite & celebrate diversity together. The festival will have performers, vendors, kids zone & food zone, it promises to keep your feet tapping and tickle your taste buds. This is the first year of 905 Fest - visit with family & friends and enjoy this great outdoor festival. 905 Fest is your festival - you can support it, as a sponsor, vendor, media partner, performing artist, volunteer for the festival or visit the festival as an audience, you are welcome. 905 Fest is happy to support and increase awareness for SHIVAS (Shining Hope in Vital Autism Society) a not for profit organization. With a single minded focus to help children with Autism Spectrum Disorders lead a more meaningful life. CBC’s Battle of the Blades – Live
Sept 19, 5:30pm, 101 York Blvd, Hamilton. Hockey Night in Canada’s Ron MacLean hosts the 2-hour premiere of Battle of the Blades as figure skating and hockey athletes pair up for this live, high-stakes figure skating competition for charity. Four-time Canadian and four-time World champion figure skater Kurt Browning serves as head judge while beloved Canadian Olympic Games ice dance champions, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, will be rink-side with him as guest judges for select episodes. The complete lineup of figure skaters includes: Violetta Afanasieva, Amanda Evora, Ekaterina Gordeeva, Vanessa James, Andrew Poje, Eric Radford, and Kaitlyn Weaver. Live taping begins 7pm. Sept 21, Barrie City Hall, 70 Collier Street. Simcoe County is home to a thriving community of artists, artisans, and makers. For four special events this summer, these creative entrepreneurs who are committed to making their own products will find a home at the Barrie Artists and Makers Markets. Co-hosted by the Barrie Farmers’ Market, the Barrie Arts Committee, and the Creative Economy Department of the City of Barrie, these events will take place next to the farmers’ market on Saturday mornings. With a different array of vendors at each event, you’re sure to find something unique and special for yourself, your friends, and your family. 10th Annual Harvest Classic Girls Hockey Tournament
Sept 20 to Sept 22, The Oakville Hornets’ Harvest Classic Girls Hockey Tournament is one of the biggest girls-only competitive hockey tournaments in the world. It routinely brings 190-220 teams to the beautiful town of Oakville. 2019 marks the 10th anniversary of our Harvest Classic tournament. The tournament headquarter is the Oakville Hornets’ home arena – Joshua Creek Arena. Games will be played at 6 town arenas – as well as Canlan Oakville – including the 14 division finals that will be played at our wonderful 4-pad Sixteen Mile Sports Complex.
