Cambridge International Street Art Festival
June 24 and 25, 10am to 6pm, Main St, Cambridge. Come out to Main St in the Galt area to experience masterpieces of street art like you've never seen before. Watch art evolve from the bare streets in historic Cambridge (Galt) and riverbank walls, along the Grand River, into masterpieces of art! It’s where modern day ‘Madonnaris’ (Term for street chalk artists who ‘painted’ the streets or public squares for money, dating back to the 1600’s) and world class graffiti artists (also known as ‘writers’) take you on a visual journey from the blank canvas to enthralling works of art creating massive masterpieces of all genres! The Cambridge International Street Art Festival is a not-for-profit organization whose mandate is to bring the joy and appreciation of art to the streets in Cambridge. The organization will provide a portion of profits to help local artists, schools and art-related organizations and provide recognition of the beauty of downtown, historic Cambridge (Galt) to the region and beyond.
