Coming Soon…June 29 - July 3, Dundas & Talbot St, Downtown London. National headliners, more than 50 musical acts, food trucks, free family activities, Ontario craft beer, and a touring virtual reality projection dome – these are just a few of the ‘big’ things coming to London during SesquiFest. This free, five-day festival is organized by the City of London, Canada 150 London, and the London Heritage Council, bringing our community together to celebrate and commemorate the 150th anniversary of Canada’s Confederation. Throughout the festival the virtual reality dome, ‘Sesqui’, will show a 360 degree virtual reality film ‘Horizon’ that takes viewers on a journey across Canada. The dome will be positioned at Budweiser Gardens with London as the second stop on the ‘Sesqui’ tour after it opens in Toronto. ‘‘SesquiFest will bring the best in sights, in sounds, in experiences about what it is to be Canadian,’‘ said Mayor Matt Brown. ‘‘Londoners will enjoy the ‘Horizon’ video, listen to great Canadian bands, explore unique things about London, and enjoy a fireworks display that really celebrates Canada’s 150th birthday.’‘ ‘‘I know how proud we all are to call Canada home, and to celebrate our 150th Birthday,’‘ said Deb Matthews, MPP, London North Centre. That’s why our government is supporting this festival to bring Londoners together. Come join in, I know we’ll all have a terrific time!’‘ Each of the five days of SesquiFest will be programmed around a different theme, expressing an essential element of Canadian identity. June 29 - July 3, ‘Too many' events to mention here. For real-time updates, follow atCanada150London on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram! Cost: Free.
