Spring Concerts: The Canadian Maple
21 Apr & 22 Apr, ClearView Christian Reformed Church, 2300 Sheridan Garden Drive, Oakville. In honour of Canada 150, the Oakville Choral Society’s 2017 spring Concerts will present the world premiere of The Canadian Maple, an original composition by OCS music director, David Bowser. The Canadian Maple is a multi-media composition inspired by the words and artwork of local school children in response to the question What does Canada mean to me? The work weaves together choral music, piano and recorded voice-overs featuring members of the Oakville Children’s Choir. The concerts will also include selections from Canadian composers of the past 150 years. Called the funniest farce ever written, Noises Off presents a manic menagerie as a cast of itinerant actors rehearsing a flop called Nothing's On.
