Amherstburg's Canada Day & Ice Cream Festival
Coming Soon…Saturday, July 1, 9am - 10pm. Saturday, July 1, 9am – 10pm, Fort Malden National Historic Site of Canada, 100 Laird Avenue, Amherstburg. The Canada 150 Canada Day Celebration begins with the Offical Oh Canada D’eh Run 2017 at Fort Malden. As part of our nation’s birthday celebration admission into Fort Malden is free and will feature free activities and entertainment throughout the day. The Canada Day celebration will end with a spectacular fireworks finale along the Detroit River! Official Canada D’eh 5K Run/Walk 2017 - At 9am start your day with a gorgeous course and 5K run/walk starting and ending at the Fort. The run takes place between 9am-11am. Our Canada Day celebrations will include our annual Canada Day Parade from historic Walkerville to Downtown Windsor, as well as entertainment and activities at Festival Plaza. We will feature an Official Canadian Citizenship Ceremony with new and existing Canadians gathering to take or re-state the Oath of Citizenship (Canada) in a shared Canadian celebration. The annual Windsor Canada Day parade and community cake celebration starts at 11am July 1st, 2017. Parade runs west along Wyandotte Street from Devonshire to Glengarry and then festivities continue at the Riverfront Festival Plaza. Remembering the '60s - Tunnel In Revival
Saturday, June 24, 7:30pm to 11pm, 74 Frederick St., Kitchener. The Tunnel In Coffee House was a popular music hub and outlet for youth in the 1960s and 1970s. Many original Tunnel In performers are returning for the 2017 Revival. Performers include Daniel Kramer, Darrell Martin, Glen Soulis, Helen Basson, Terry Jones (Perth County), Ted Parkinson, Philomene Hoffman, Jeffrey Beckner and more. There will also be a silent auction and snacks. This event is a fundraiser to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Social Development Centre Waterloo Region. Tickets $15.
